solar batteries, are they worth the investment?
I'm looking at changing my inverter soon to something like the lux hybrid as i have 40 x 285w panels to fit and want to be able to set it to zero export as i wont get paid for any export.
as i use around 50 kwh per day i'm wondering if it is worth getting a big battery bank and maybe even charge them with economy 7 in the winter or would i be better to invest the cost of the batteries in something else as that might make more than i'd save on my power bills?
thanks

Best to raise this in the Green & Ethical thread when all issues to do with Solar PV & Batteries is discussed.0

I think you had better do your sums very carefully - only you can really decide whether the initial cost of the batteries etc will pay back within a reasonable amount of time.
You'd have to save an awful lot of money on your energy bills to make them a viable proposition.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -

Can I just state, you would need permission from your DNO as well. Not sure if the proposed Installer has made you aware of that?0
