A waste of time and money even if you are in the US and interested in FICO scores.0

There are no "secret repairs" unless you want some tape to stick your credit card back together again.0

Even in the US where credit scores mean something, the basic principles of building a score are the same as in the UK where you are looking to build your credit history/rating (just that in the UK the score is a novelty).
Get a credit card, pay off in full every month
Get a mobile phone contract, pay on time every month
Ensure you are registered on the electoral role (shows stability)
Pay all bills on time, avoid late markers
Above that, repair just takes timeSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

"Statements Of The Bleedin' Obvious About Credit Cards" isn't quite as catchy or marketable a title as one involving 'secrets' though....
If only there was a prominent and popular personal finance website that published helpful articles about this sort of stuff, eh?
