Gladstone letter

Options
Hi,
I’ve got a parking ticket that has gone to Gladstone solicitors, they have sent a letter out saying I have 14 days to pay a £160 fee, it was originally £60 but I ignored the horizon letters. Should I respond to the Gladstone letter or not?

    No you should not.
  • Should I wait until the LBC comes to my door then start an appeal then? It was at a pub car park and they put a ticket on my car as I was there for only 10 minutes, they have a system inside where you have to put your reg in but I did not know this...

What did the pub say when you complained to them, especially as their scamming car parking system is obviously not signed properly?

You could write to the solicitors, sending a copy to the to the SRA,

asking for a reason for the increase. Also, get your MP on board.

Complain to your MP. On 18th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these private parking companies. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, and persistent offenders denied access. Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers.

Until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

The "14 day letter" from Gladstones is just a scary note asking you to pay an inflated sum

If you ever watch repeats on the BBC, you will know how boring they are ..... ????

Get this cancelled by the pub ... that's if they want to keep customers and not let it get around that they employ scammers

If the pub do not get it cancelled write bad stuff on their website, TripAdvisor, local pub guides etc. Teach them that employing these parasites can affect their bottom line.i

Complain. Easiest way to get a scam PCN cancelled, and quickly.

    No idea why people don't.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
