Mortgage offer and mortgage deeds?!

We received our mortgage offer through the post a little while ago but we’ve still not received anything from our solicitor even though our broker and ourselves have chased.
Is there a time frame in which we must sign everything and send back?

The deadline is whenever completion is.0

Have you instructed your solictor?
Are you in England? Scotland?
How did you select/instruct the solicitor?
Have you signed /returned their terms of business?
Sent an initial sum of money (usually required) to cover their disbursements?
What have they said they will do and when?0 -
Solicitor is instructed, was instructed on the 18th of Feb.
Based in England.
Mortgage brokers recommendation. They helped instruct.
Signed and returned terms.
Initial payment paid when we returned terms.
They said they would’ve done searches etc by now, but only just started on Monday?! Insisted they hadn’t received the offer, but it’s been sent multiple times via fax, email etc. They’re rather slack.
Both parties are chain free. I’m in no rush, and we’ve actually agreed a completion date at the start of August, but we’ve only decided this a few days ago.0 -
Other stuff is more important than the mortgage deed - solicitor just needs to be sitting with that signed whenever completion happens.0

So obtain the dates the offer was faxed, eamailed etc, send these to the solicitor, ask for confirmation whether each was received/not received, and express your concern that heir communication with the lender appears not to work and could they investigate why.AmyShepherd wrote: »Insisted they hadn’t received the offer, but it’s been sent multiple times via fax, email etc. They’re rather slack.
