Unable to reset tablet/phone

I want to dispose of a phone and a tablet but I'm unable to reset them to.factory settings as the screens are broken to such a degree that I can't use them. How do I dispose of them and ensure that my info can't be hacked if someone gets hold of the devices.

I also have an old laptop which I can reset - is a factory reset enough to ensure all my info is wiped before I dispose of it?

Thanks

The phone you can can take the SIM and the SD Card out (if present), that will then be as good you can. Same with the tablet if it has an SD card.

Re: the laptop - take the hard drive out and feed the rest of the unit to the electrical section of the tip.

Google or search YouTube for instructions for dismantling the phone and tablet.

Open them up, and remove the circuit boards. Separate all the other components, and scatter them at random in the small electricals bin at your local recycle. If you want to be extra secure, take some action to break the circuit boards, the components upon them, or the connectors which would be used to link them to the rest of the phone or tablet.

Laptop - again, search online for instruction on removing the hard drive - that's the ONLY place your info can be - and remove it. Keep the HDD in a drawer, cupboard or attic, or use it in a USB caddy with another PC, and sell the rest of the laptop as a refurb project or spares/repair on eBay, Gumtree or Schpock.
