I need a new computer to replace my Intel i3 3.5Ghz processor and GA-H61M-S2PV motherboard with 8.00 GB ram and 128 GB ssd and Radeon HD 6670 graphics card that I had built myself.
I am passing it on to one of my grandchildren so it gives me an excuse to get a new computer.
I want something a bit more powerful, i5 or i7 processor with SSD and a better graphics card as I do a bit of video editing.
Any suggestions up to about £500?

As inferred by the above ... ready-built or self-build? Desktop or laptop?0

Ready built desktop unless I could get a laptop for £5000

Personally I wouldn't video edit on a laptop.
But if the laptop is the only route get one that can handle two hard drives; note that this is not typical of most laptops.
But regardless of that, get the biggest second drive you can afford for your raw video; you may know this already but for the benefit of others who don't - raw uncompressed video takes up shed loads of space.
And if the choice is a desktop get a decent power supply if you're going to have a graphics card, a decent brand 500w is better than a cheap and crap 750w.0 -
Also preferably with no OS installed and connections for my VGA and DVI monitors.0
