How to junk a Laptop.

I have a 12 year old laptop which although powers up it will not load Windows. An 'expert' says the motherboard has a problem but it will cost 120 quid to fix which I don't want to pay. So I want to trash it but how? I can take out the HDD and the RAMs but is there anything else I should do???

Nobody here suggested it, but its what someone said they did to kill the data on their drive. Thought the OP may wish to know that simply dunking it in water wont kill it.

Heard a few people say water kills them though, thats why i mentioned it.
