    Just seems bizarre to me that they've gone to the effort of paying the court fee etc. and then bottle it at the 11th hour.

    I was going to go heavy on the VCS Abuse of Process argument, plus a few other bits and bobs I'd managed to find. I've got some (useful to me) notes and transcripts which i found elsewhere, but which i might stick on this thread in case they are useful to anyone else.

    They are prepared to lose the odd £25 here and there on discontinuations, but the bigger prize is all those who fall over themselves to quickly pay the claim amount - often over £250 (4 times greater than the original PCN) - to make it go away.

    If it wasn't all so perverse, I'd say this is a brilliant business model. There are not many businesses in the country getting their initial invoices paid 4 times over!
