Morning everyone,
The axe throwing went well. We were in a group with 7 or 8 other people and they organised a tournament which I won!! My prize? A sticker. Nonetheless, a good laugh. We then wandered round the corner for a bite to eat and some drinks. So, some advice if you'd indulge me...she's a lovely girl, we're of a similair age, same sense of humour, into the same things (such as axe throwing lol) and unlike my ex, seems to be more considerate from an MSE perspective. However, I found myself changing my mind throughout the date on wither I was really attracted to her. I think we're both looking for a long-term relationship and so without sounding shallow, I feel that's got to be an important element to consider.
Anyway, aside from that consuming most of my thoughts today, I've got work followed by the gym. Compared to my last 2 weekends of visitors, this one will be quiet and to myself, which I feel I need. It'll be centred around watching the Old Firm on Sunday. So I'll either be elated or devastated come Monday morning.
Organza - Happy birthday!!
Candygirl - So sudden. You must all be shocked. Condolences.0 -
Morning all! Frantic tidying this morning, by the time I got to the dump yesterday I had a thrity mintue wait before I could get in, so I went shopping for victuals instead, and got another bag of stones to put in the front garden to cover the hole, then it was back to the dump where the wait was now 40 mintues...Got home, was shattered, so fell asleep, then it was meet friends so didn't get back till 21-45 which meant no tidying was done...It's all to make up for today, so early start, showered and dressed and ready to go.
I watched a programme on hoarders last nght, American stylee, and unfortunately, I noticed some distinct similarities between myself and what I do, and what this particular woman was doing, so am going to have to rein those impulses in, just because something is free, does not mean it's useful or that I can make it useful! Not without a proper workshop anyway....Please write out 100 times 'I must not collect junk. I must not collect junk'
Candygirl, so sorry, it's hard when you walk in the door and they arent there where you expect them to be, my condolences. Good to hear your improving AOD, and Rosy. Speky I was going to ask about the axe throwing, that sounds like a lot of fun.Practicing for the zombie apocalypsecamelot, that's lovely of them! TA, don't go crazy with the cleaning. Nelski, if it's too much and not productive, ditch it. Write a book instead
Wotcha absentees....

Enjoying the peace of West Cork.......no vehicle has passed on the road so far today, even though we live in the country at home there is lots of traffic, this is nice, we came with DS1 yesterday and will return with him on Sunday evening. They have a four month old whippet /husky puppy who made us very welcome !
Have just been advised that we are going out for lunch so good wishes for a nice day to all, especially birthday girl OL, go get yourself a job girl, I couldn't handle someone else having control of OUR money.

Happy Birthday and I hope you are spoilt and fussed over as you deserve it. I can see why a part time job could appeal from the point of view of having some money of your own. Could you do a trial period?
Candygirl
I am so sorry about your news and it must have been such a shock for you all.
I had a quiet day after yesterday's early Mother's Day meal with DD and baby and tidied up a few more boxes and things from my bedroom which had become a dumping ground. I noticed some ants at the front of the bungalow yesterday so ordered some ant killer which comes in a watering can style spray and lasts for three months at a time so I hope it will sort out the problem when I spray it tomorrow.
A set of protective anti fraud sleeves have arrived for debit cards and my new bank card is now safely encased and I will offer some to DDs as well. I even have some that are passport sized so feel quite efficient.
Finally got around to putting Christening photo in a small silver plated frame and it looks so nice in the living room that I have logged on to tkmaximus and ordered a couple more as they are less than half price as well as a couple of pretty notebooks. One is for middle dd for wedding plans and the other one is for me to note when and what I eat as if dd is planning a wedding for January then the sooner I get to grips with my weight the better.

Hello all
Sorry I'm late to the party but I've had a busy day 'cos the sun was shining.
I finally, finally made it to the garden centre and I am now the proud owner of a shiny new pair of secateurs  The best bit of course is that we had vouchers to spend and they cost me almost nothing :j. Of course we had to sample the coffee shop while we were in the vicinity, just in case something had gone amiss since our last visit
This afternoon our car has had a wash/ clean inside and out, as it looked as if it has been rallying in the Sahara desert again :rotfl: . The neighbours probably think I'm bonkers, ( well more than normal ! ) as I got an old toothbrush to clean the car grill.
Organza Lace Happy Birthday. I hope you had a lovely day with lots of presents and pampering _party_
Candygirl I'm so sorry that you lost part of your family. Gentle hugs coming your way.
Meanmarie I hope you enjoy the peace and quiet as much as you can.
Speky sometimes it takes a while to fathom things out. Take your time and enjoy the company, who knows what the future may hold for the two of you. Well done on the sticker :rotfl:.
Holly if you are reading, look after yourself lovely xx
Take care all

DS1 and DDIL took us to Glandore for a lovely lunch overlooking the Atlantic in the wonderful sun.on the way back we went to DDILs favourite junk shop where I found a bell for the front of the house......I have been wanting one for ages so very happy with that.
Candy girl...so sorry for your loss, been there and done that on several occasions, so know how you feel.
Early to bed tonight I think as DGD2 has 2 matches tomorrow morning so I will need to be up early to cheer her on, as I am seldom around for her sporting events of which there are many, as she swims, plays hockey, rugby, camphor football and God knows what else.
Enjoy the weekend and look after yourselves.
