Old Style Daily Friday 29th March

Options
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

    Good morning everyone :hello:
I have been up for an hour or so already so I thought I would start us off this morning. It's PayDay at last so I have been paying the rent and Council Tax, ouchy. At least it's done now and the rest of the money can be spent on wild living :D.
Anyone heard from JackieO? It's not like her to not post so I hope everything is ok and she is just busy.

Things have settled down a bit here again so I am enjoying the peace and quiet. I have downloaded and printed off a number of new knitting projects so that will keep me going once I get my knitting mojo back.

I have heard from the company I ordered flowers from for my Mother in Law for Mother's Day to say that they could not deliver them. this is very annoying as they were not cheap so I am waiting to see what happens next. I also have to wrap up my Mum's present and hope she pops in today or tomorrow. I have bought my own presents this year and the kids are paying me back. I don't mind as I know I am difficult to buy for.

I have some mince that needs using up so some sort of bolognese dish for dinner tonight. Steve is making noises about having sausages but I don't think there are any in the freezer. I will get some for him on the weekend in my online shop.

Hope you all have a good day whatever you are up to, actually, I hope you are all still asleep :rotfl:. Take care xx
  • Morning folks and thanks DUMPLING. Hope you managed to get back to sleep.

Just read a late post from CANDYGIRL on yesterday's thread. Such sad news. I am so very sorry CANDYGIRL.

Nothing newsworthy happening for me today. I have the delights of the Friday Tidy in store. Plus a mountain of washing seems to have appeared from nowhere. Eventually the end of month finances will be to do too. I will leave that till the last job.

DD is popping in after the school drop to venture up into the loft to get all the caravan stuff down that she has stored up there. She is hoping her bf will get over to the van this w/e to attach the new awning and put the new carpet down in there. Then the job of getting the 'van itself sorted out can begin as she plans on staying there in the Easter hols.

Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for all in need. We have so many regulars MIA just now. I hope it's because they are out and about in this nice weather and too busy enjoying life to post. Still no update from HOLLY I hope she is coping with the rad as well as poss. Take care all xx

TA i am in contact with Holly and all is well as it can be but she is resting lots so hasnt much to add to the thread (Her words not mine :) )

Off to have my boobs inspected this morning. Managed to get an early appointment so should be back in good time to enjoy a Friday off. Will do some of the weekend jobs but also have a feet up day. Working tonight ...seriously thinking about giving this one up as they have changed their software and my technical skills are pretty limited so am getting stressed about it and as its volunteer that doesn't seem to make sense.

Need to rummage in a far emptier freezer for something to eat tonight tonight

Nothing much else to report so have a good day if you can x

    Morning All

Last day before the holidays, hurray! I'm hoping for a nice quiet day but I'm sure that won't happen.

    So sorry Candygirl.
Happy Birthday OL, enjoy your day.

I got the little bed put together last night and put the bedding on - the quilt cover is all diggers and tractors, just the thing for a 3 year old! I have to pay a visit to the blue and yellow shed later as the little stoppers to hold the bed slats in place are missing, hoping they can help out.

I had a nice surprise yesterday, I'm meeting some very good friends tomorrow for a meal to celebrate Mrs friend's 50th, was asked if I could stay for a couple of drinks after, told them no problem but I would have to get the last train home and they have booked and paid for a room in the centre of Glasgow for me - what a treat!

So, lots of housework tonight so I can have an afternoon in town tomorrow, Sunday the DGC arrive for much of next week so need to be organised.

    Happy Friday, take care. XX

Good morning, and thanks earlybird dumpling.
It seems to be another nice day here, it's been a good week,

Happy birthday Ol, hope it's a good one.
Candygirl, I'm so sorry about Zeus, what a shock for you.
TA, we'll be getting our caravan stuff out of the loft in the next week

We've got Dgs today from 9 - 3, he's walking now, and is fascinated by absolutely everything, it's a lovely age.

There's a couple of friends coming round tonight, and that's it for today.

    Hope everyone has good days.

    Take care folks
