But women are ALWAYS right. If you think they are wrong then you have misunderstood the situation.

Just to put right the heading - turning right against a Council sign isn't illegal anyway. It's not 'breaking the law'.

London Boroughs, TFL and almost every local Council operate their parking and moving traffic contraventions on a decriminalised basis. So, not ''illegal'' at all.

  • Because of the size and power ratio of my Suzuki, the new congestion charge about to come in is going to effect my riding the 1250 into London.
However, you can get around it as the government, for once is on the side of bikers and will allow you to avoid the charge by taking off two of your plug caps before you enter the zone, this effectively reduces the cc of the bike to 625 which is under the 650 limit.
The bonus is you save on fuel cost as well.

Knee high cameras, capable of spotting just how many plug caps have been removed, are in the process of being installed at CZ entry and exit points, after mayoral fool Sad IQ Can gave his written approval this morning. Had to get it done before noon today.

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • Turning right illegal or not is still a fine and these days you will almost certainly get caught because of cameras. Cameras are so cheap now councils can afford to put them up at every major junction.

Yep, but luckily most TFL or Council PCNs, moving traffic or not, can be appealed and won, by consulting the experts on pepipoo.

I've got my niece and her husband off two TFL moving traffic PCNs in London (one box junction, one red route bay - both looking 'bang to rights' in the footage!) and currently have anther one for parking in a suspended bay (a non CCTV one) under appeal with a London Borough and that will win, too, I am certain.

  • The UK not as bad as Portugal I suppose. I once got fined there for overtaking on a dual carriage way and was not speeding. Portuguese police are notorious for targeting tourists.
  • Thanks Coupon-mad. So the congestion charge seems to be the exception, with only six excuses accepted, which will not apply in 99% of cases.

Yes, so the right option would have been to take the right turn (and maybe then turn round asap) if it was safe to do that, then go to pepipoo forum when the PCN arrived.
