How do I know if I can get a grant? My wife and I both work would this count against us?
Also do your local council hold a list of reputable companies?
Thanks,
Pete.

If you both work & receive no benefits then you won't qualify for a grant. Have a look here to see the qualifying benefits.http://www.warmfront.co.uk/
Even if you don't qualify for a grant, lots of energy companies have special discount offers for cavity wall & loft insulation. Contact your energy supplier to see if they have any schemes running. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
I went through my energy provider Powergen over a week ago and they passed my details to a company called Miller Pattison. The surveyor was round yesterday and quoted me £210. My Dad was round and asked if they could have a look at his house when they were in the area. He was quoted £199 directly through them due to their discount although his house was bigger.
It may be worthwhile trying them direct and/or other companies in your area.0
