Hi, i would be grateful for advice on switching energy please as I have never done this before! I am currently with British Gas for both gas and electricity, I submit a meter reading monthly and BG generate a bill. I am paying £1800 annual for my duel fuel, after a search with the energy club I can save approximately £500 a year with Bulb.
Can anyone advise if I would continue to submit meter readings monthly, I like to keep on top on my money and pay for what I use, I don't want to be hit with unexpected bills. I currently do this through the BG app which suits me.
My usage increases significantly in the winter as I have a large collection of reptiles!
Thank you in advance

To switch you need 12 months actual consumption - two bills 12 months apart and a bit of simple maths give you this.
Duel fuel is generally not the best - do separate comparisons for gas and elec
Always give monthly readingsNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
Bulb take an average monthly payment as you annual cost would be £1300 with them your monthly payment would be about £108.
They then ask you to submit monthly meter readings so they can tell you exactly how much the energy you've used costs.
If this begins to differ significantly from what you're paying they would ask you to change your payment amount0 -
Thank you for your advice, I have started the switch to Bulb through MSE's cheap energy club and should be saving £495 a year0
