Letter Before Claim

Hi, sorry to add a new thread but I'm confused where to look for up-to-date advice and information on this matter.
After correspondence to/from a parking company in which they failed to understand my situation I have just received a 'Letter Before Claim' from Gladstones Solicitors.
I intend to fight this claim because I firmly believe the original charge cannot be justified. Please could someone kindly send me some advice on how I should respond to this letter from them.

Have you based your forum username on your real name?
If so, you would be wise to get your forum username changed to something very much more anonymous.
To help with that, you might like to read this short extract from The MSE Forum Guide - Frequently Asked Questions & Rules:Q. How can I change my username?
A. In most circumstances, this is not permitted.
The only reason we will change your username is if it puts your privacy at risk. This usually means you've inadvertently registered using your name, email address or something that gives away your identity within your username.
If you fall into this category, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com and request that it is changed, giving three alternative usernames in order of preference.0 -
I have now got a court claim.
I think the parking company has been disproportionate with me and not listened to my circumstances. What do you suggest?
Should I go to court and argue my case that they have not been fair or will the court just stick to the facts and uphold the parking company's demands on me.
Is it worth me fighting on? I have asked many times for them to understand my situation but they have continued with their demands.
Any thoughts from anyone?

Post #2 there covers Court claims right through to the hearing
Your first job is to submit the AOS (all explained in the FAQ)
That buys you a total of 28 days from the date of service to get your defence in0 -
What is the Issue Date on your Claim Form?
Did it come from the County Court Business Centre in Northampton, or from somewhere else?
Please re-read post #3 above.0 -
Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams so complain to your MP.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0
