As jcontest says, the DD does not need to be active to receive the refund to your account. DDs only work in one direction. When I left my former supplier last August they cancelled the DD without me asking and later refunded my credit balance.0

As jcontest says the DD doesn't need to be active. DDs only apply to paying bills anyway. When I left a former supplier last August they cancelled the DD straightaway. They later refunded the credit balance to my bank account, so it can be done. Complain.0

I agree that an official complaint to EDF is in order, although I also agree with others that setting up an account and gaining POA may be prudent for the future.3.6 kW PV in the Midlands - 9x Sharp 400W black panels - 6x facing SE and 3x facing SW, Solaredge Optimisers and Inverter. 400W Derril Water (one day). I think its too late for POA as the uncle has already been diagnosed with Dementia .
Others may know more but the stage I think is Court of Protection.
Any other members of family involved ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0
