EDF billing shambles

Up to December 2018, I was able to submit meter readings and see the balance within a day or so. This year, no billing info, only a balance that has built up to 3 x the monthly payment. I pay a fixed amount by direct debit each month.

On phoning to ask why the billing/statements stopped in December, I was told that I shouldn’t submit monthly readings and they will ask for a reading. They also said bills were only issued twice a year. I asked about the smart meter that they cannot read and was told they currently have no mechanism to read meters installed by EON. They were unable to see the current balance of my account.

A total mess... their tariff currently appears to be cheaper that all the others, so I’ll stick it out until my fix ends in the autumn, although I could leave without an exit fee at any time.
