Default end date?

Hi there,
I am wondering does a default remove of your credit file 6 years from when the default occurred (2014) or 6 years from when it is settled (zero balance)?
I am aiming to clear off the balance on a default of overdraft with Lloyds bank as quick as I can (monthly payments through a debt collection agency), so wondering if the default would remove in 2019 or in (say 2025 if cleared this year)
Many thanks for your help

A default is removed six years from the date of default.
So in your case, if you are saying the default date is sometime during 2014, then the account will automatically be removed from your credit file sometime during 2020.I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.
