Hi all
Hope someone can advise
I have received a parking charge from PCM (non BPA members) for not displaying a valid permit
Needless to say the signage was not great in that I didn’t see any signs but without going back to the location which is quite a way away I can’t get photo evidence
They also clearly have my make and model wrong even with a photo!
Is it enforceable?
Thanks

other ATAs are available
please read the newbies thread0 -
Have you read through the NEWBIES sticky at the top of this board?
PCM are in the IPC, so you don't appeal as the IAS is considered a kangaroo court.
Where was the location?
Did they get the VRM correct on the PCN?
It sounds like a NTK letter.
I think your best course of action is to go into IGNORE MODE - PCM have up to 6 years to bring a claim in court. You'll no doubt get letters from their debt collectors but, again, you ignore them too as they can't bring a court claim.0 -
Welcome.
But we can't spend time helping unless you read some threads & info first, this board is far too busy for this.
Did you miss NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST?
...and threads like this one, already answered just minutes ago, about PCM?

Yes it is a NTK
They did get the VRM right and it was Salisbury village in Hatfield0 -
Ok, if you go to the main board and do a search in this forum only for something like "pcm hatfield", make sure you set the results to posts and not threads, and have a look.

Do it.
Do it after reading the NEWBIES thread.

(Sorry, I'm referencing the really awful (imo) FCA PPI ad that features a CGI Arnie head on tank tracks with a poor Arnie impersonator voiceover.)0 -

I had a closer look at the photo and I am in the photo having just left the car!
Also I went back to the location and looked for the signage - there are 3 tiny signs all well above drivers line of sight all situated above double yellow lines so why would you even look for a sign! - the only non double yellow part of the road has no sign not even directly opposite - seems very crafty!0 -
Have you taken your own photos (in the same light conditions at the same time of parking - if dark, don’t use a flash, although you will need some signage photos that clearly show the information on them)? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

why is a permit required to park?
is it your own space, or did you have permission from the owner of the space to park there? From the Plain Language Commission:

It wasn't a marked space - it was just a road (residential one side and open fields the other)0
