Being chased for 19 year old debt

Just received a letter from a solicitor saying that they have been instructed by arrow global to collect a debt that was originally due to capital one. The original debt is from 2000 and then it was assigned to global arrow in 2011. Do I pay it? This is the first letter and is threatening me with a county court judgement.…

If you’ve not paid anything to the debt or acknowledged it in writing for any period of 6 years then under sec 5 Limitations act 1980, it will be statute barred.
