As often as you want it.

Make sure you're checking and doing the essentials yourself if you don't take it in that often.

As often or as little as you want to. There is no legal requirement to ever maintain a vehicle, just one that it must be in a roadworthy condition.

Of course, it depends on how badly you wish to let a valuable asset deteriorate unnecessarily...

Never - there's no legal requirement to service a car, you are only required to make sure it meets the minimum safety requirements. Of course, if you want to make sure that the valuable asset you've spent a large wad of your hard-earned cash on gives you many years of service, then you'll want to look after it.

Quite apart from anything else, even if you want to stick rigidly to the manufacturer's recommendations, these are based on age and mileage - along the lines of "Every 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first". And if the car is being used in particularly harsh conditions (very hot, very cold, very dusty, etc. etc.) then you should service it even more often than the recommended intervals.

So in a nutshell, you can service it as often or as little as you like - depends how much you value your investment.

Read the service intervals for your car, they will be in the handbook.

Upto you if you want to follow the information from the manufacture or not - I wouldn't come on here complaining though if something goes tits up because you haven't followed the service intervals.
