Received CCJ for parking fine but in wrong name

Hi, looking for some advice please.
It's a bit drawn out to bear with me...I have just received a letter from QDR solicitors demanding £293 and that a CCJ has been entered against 'me' on 6/3/19. The problem is, the addressee of the letter has my surname but a completely different first name.
I have been receiving letters from the parking operator relating to a parking ticket I received probably about a year ago. I ignored them because the name on the letters were wrong (I know stupid, given the seriousness of CCJs) but I really do want to get this sorted and avoid it affecting either mine or my wife's credit records.
I'm male but the letters are addressed to Mr [clearly female first name] [my surname].
I have now gone back and opened some unopened letters I put away addressed to the same incorrect person and have found the Judgement for Claimant (in default) which shows that I have not replied to the claim form and therefore I'm ordered to pay £293 which is the supposed debt plus fees.
As I mentioned, this all relates to a parking ticket I received having forgotten to pay £6 via an app on my daily commute. I used to use that same car park every day for over a year so would have paid the operator well over £1,000...From day 1, the letters and all communication have been addressed to this wrongly named person but the vehicle reg details are correct. It's my car.
According to the CCJ letter from the court, if I pay the £293 within one month of the judgement I can ask the court to cancel the entry on the Register.
I'm loathe to pay the £293 but equally I just want this over and done with so need to decide what to do pretty sharpish. What's the score with the CCJ being under the wrong name? Would that have an impact on both mine and my wife's credit ratings? The name the CCJ is against doesn't exist at our address and wouldn't be on the electoral register.
If I do decide to pay the £293 should I contact QDR and pay them and then send the proof of payment with the request to remove the CCJ?
Any thoughts, opinions or advice very gratefully received.

One of the first things to check is the name on the vehicle V5 to see if it the details the DVLA hold are correct or also has the wrong first name.
If it's not your name on the V5, then to my very simple mind, the CCJ has nothing to do with you.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0 -

In theory they could try sending a bog standard bailiff but you'd be saying ''no idea who that person is, look, I'm John and my wife is Janet. That person doesn't live here, no idea what this is about but it's nothing to do with us.''
Which parking firm? Most never enforce and just leave CCJs to lie.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

complain to your MP.
On 18th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these private parking companies. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, and persistent offenders denied access. Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers.
Until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

My V5 is correct. It has my correct name with the vehicle but all letters from the parking co, solicitors and the CCJ are against the incorrect name. I also have a a very simple mind and I can't think how the CCJ can be applied to me if it's in the wrong name but then I don't want it to come back to bite me..Coupon-mad wrote: »Ignore it, this can't affect your credit rating and for that sum, they can't send HCEO ''can't pay, we'll take it away'' bullies.

It's Green Parking. In terms of your final point though, it's not up to the parking firm to 'just leave CCJs to lie' is it?0 -
… it's not up to the parking firm to 'just leave CCJs to lie' is it?
I believe that it is, however, if anyone does a search on you, this CCJ will not show up.
I suspect that very few PPCs try to enforce judements, and they can hardly enforce one against a non-existent person. Let them sort it out, it is nothing to do with you.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

no its called "credit clamping" with a ccj on your file your credit will be trash , no new mortgage , even phone contract denied
"pay us or you will suffer" is there motto , they do not need to send out bailiff or even follow up letters , as it will be YOU contacting them and offering to pay ,in order for it to be marked as satisfied0 -

Relax.
It's likely to just sit there and cannot be enforced or affect you both.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I think the ultimate proof will be what (if anything) appears on your credit file over the next 3-6 months.
I had a very similar circumstance around a year ago with the infamous scumbags MIL corruptions (yes corruptions not collections haha) chasing someone for 5k at my address, in my situation though they had both first name and surname completely different to mine so I rang them, I know its advised on here never to ring debt crawlers but I was never gonna put myself in a disadvantaged position by furnishing them with info about me, I just said 'Nobody here by that name at this address, don't have a clue what this debt is all about and PROVE IT'
Scumbag on other end of phone was a real piece of S**T as a lot of these debt dummies are and was quite aggressive asking me who I was etc etc and I better pay or its Court!!! so me being me and having had enough of him spouting BS about CCJ,s etc I just put my best Liam Neeson voice on and said 'GOOD LUCK'
Not heard anything since, also knowing it will cost them about £500 to issue me a claim I think I can sleep ok0 -

no it will cost them £25 initial fee only and of course you cannot reply as the claim will not be in your name , therefore they will get a default on the stated person0 -

Not according to the Gov.uk website, for a claim of 5K it will cost £455 'on paper fee' or £410 'online fee'
A £25 online fee only allows a claim value up to £300 which of course the parking scum use regularly as we all know.0
