Responsibilities of a solicitor (relating to PPCs)

On an unrelated topic, then that could be the lawyers for Coventry City's owners in the doghouse, if anyone at the SRA cared :whistle:That's ALWAYS and all courts.
(Probably also depends whether they're an in-house lawyer team or a separate practice on retainer, but let's not get off-topic here.)0 -
My understanding is that if they were regulated under the FCA they would not be able to chase disputed claims and would have to refer the claim back to the PPC.
They have no option but to pass it back to the PPC.
THAT IS WHY DEBT COLLECTORS ARE KNOWN AS MORONS
If people want to take the p*ss out of these sewer rats, they could always write back saying they will only deal with a regulated company.
I think within the new code that something will be done as it was mentioned in the house0 -
Psst, beamer, I think you need to axe the "r" word - I used it on another board and got yellow-carded, even though it's a medical term and used in long-standing internet memes.0

I told Excel at the outset that I would not engage with debt collectors as the claim was disputed. I then received a letter from DRP. I wrote to DRP told them to not contact me again and referred them back to Excel. I still had a rainforest of paper from them and Zenith. Zenith claimed to have bought the debt.
If these companies have to comply with regulation they won't last five minutes.

I'd say you're right there: because they'd have to start thinking, and thought is fatal to them.Snakes_Belly wrote: »I told Excel at the outset that I would not engage with debt collectors as the claim was disputed. Did they literally say that they had bought the debt? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Thickness is par for the course for the scammers.
I'm hoping that when the new code starts, we can pick them off one by one ...... with the utmost pleasure0 -
