Gers, I know exactly what you are going through. When Steve was in hospital I was getting very tired and down and when Chris asked how I was doing rather than Steve I burst into tears. I told him not to be nice to me, I could hold it together apart from that!

We're having a clean through the house before leaving. The last couple of times I just gave it a cat's lick and a promise so I'm being more thorough today. Not that it's very dirty or anything so won't take a huge amount of time. I've assigned the bathrooms to Steve because I always seem to end up cleaning them and I'm fed up of them.

Laura rang with a bit of a dilemma, she's been asked to go on a press trip to New York next week but she's anxious about it because of the baby. I'm sure it will be ok if she goes but told her to go with her gut.

Steve has his pre-chemo appointment tomorrow morning so we need to go home today.

Afternoon all and thanks for the warm welcome back :).
This morning we were on standby for the DGS again but it seems he was well enough to go to school, so that's good news. DD's school is on an inspection this week and she text me that it was going "interestingly", but said she would tell all soon, so I can't wait for the gossip about that.
Mr Fix it needed more wood from the wood shop and then called round to Aldis on the way home for another top up shop. Guess who forgot the potatoes . I have enough for now but I will have to get some more for the weekend.
This afternoon I made myself do the ironing before I came on here and whoo hoo !! the basket is now empty :j
Dad's coming to tea after his club and he also wants Mr Fix it to supervise while he attempts to put his new scooter together. I shall be standing by and holding the paddle ready to give marks out of ten :rotfl:. We are having Mediterranean style pork steaks and chip/peas with strawberries and cream/ ice cream for pud.
Hugs going to anyone having problems with awkward family members, or caring for poorly people, or going through treatment and that includes those with poorly animals too. Me, I'm still walking like a drunken sailor on shore leave and going downstairs is a challenge  :rotfl:
I shall send healing vibes those in need and get the Sandman to do his rounds to the sleepless.
    Take care all

I hope your Mum perks up a bit and I can see how worrying it is for everyone but right now she probably does not have the strength or ability to consider others even if she would normally be responsive and empathetic.

My new bank card has arrived in only three days so I am very impressed and have cut up the old card that was in my purse. Dishwasher is doing its thing and I have tried a new technique to remove the burn bottom of the inner pot of the Pressure King Pro. I dissolved a dishwasher tablet in boiling water and left it for an hour, scrubbed gently and repeated and it seems to have done the trick without any scratching of the surface.

DD and baby are coming tomorrow to treat me to a late lunch for Mother's Day as they will be away at the weekend and youngest dd is coming over on Friday but not sure if she is staying with me or her sister who is a couple of streets away so the next few days should be interesting. I have some pork loin chops and marinated chicken defrosting which will make meals for the next few days and a mountain of clean laundry to put away later so will just do a bit at a time.

    Hugs to all

Yes, even thinking about what happened and what's happened since makes me tearful.

Anyway, a better visit today though how anyone gets a rest in hospital is beyond me. There's always someone doing something, staff shouting at deaf patients, physios, plebotomists, doctors etc.
DM has gone off to art therapy and is waiting for the hairdresser to come round. The other good news is that she might get home on Saturday - fingers crossed.

My 'reward' today was a G reggs cheese and onion pasty :( - I took some unwanted bed linen to the CS and the bakery is just next door. :rotfl: I had it with soup which needed to be used up so it was a bit healthy.
