How soon can I change back?

Hi. After using a few comparison sites, I've changed my gas and electricity supplier. I'm with the new company as of today. I've been watching my smart meter throughout the day and I've used £7.00 already! Even though the comparison site said it would be cheaper, it's certainly not looking that way up to now. Something's not right. Maybe I entered something wrong on the comparison site I don't know. I'm already regretting the change and want to go back to my old supplier. How long do I have to wait to change back? I know we do use a lot of gas and electricity as there's somebody always in and we're up from 6am and the eldest goes bed early hours of the morning. 3 kids, a lot of electronics and lizard tanks all mount up. £7 per day x 28 days = £196 per month :0
TIA

£7 already doesn't mean anything..
Just comparing your tariff as in £/kWh & standing charge per day of each supply type per supplier will highlight immediately what's the better deal. (along with your expected annual energy conumption)
As for changing suppliers, once the switch has completed you're able to switch again, but do be aware of exit fees if they apply, as that could make it more expensive.0 -
Bulb are currently one of the cheapest now on the market.
I have just checked British tarriffs, that means the cost per units and the standing charges and British Gas is way more expensive.
Are you sure your are reading and understanding what it says on your smart meter, they can be confusing?0 -
Bulb don't charge exit fees, if you want to switch back, but believe me that would be a silly move if you are looking to save money.0

compare the tariffs to see which provider is cheaper, don't rely on silly displays and the DD amountsBlackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0

I will put in a reading tomorrow and see what it shows. I was on prepayment with BG and I get paid every 4 weeks. I'd top up £248 electric every 8 weeks throughout the year and £50 gas every 4 weeks during the winter and £25 during the summer. Maybe I'm just panicking because with prepay you know you're only using what you pay for.

If you've moved to Bulb with a smart meter and you used to top up, it will have changed to credit mode. It also won't be displaying your costs accurately as it is unlikely to be working 'smartly'.
You now need to take monthly meter readings and they'll send you bills for how much that's cost you.
As they've said above it's the unit rates that really matter with energy. If those are lower you're now getting the same energy for a cheaper amount.0 -
By Smart Meter I presume you are talking about the In House Display that is in your kitchen rather than the meter itself that's in an outside box or in your garage.
It's the actual consumption that matters.
Set up a simple spreadsheet with your meter readings and standing charges and VAT an input your meter readings in kwh (remember to use a conversion meter for your gas as the meter doesn't display kwh) Do this daily for a while and get used to the costs.
Give your readings to Bulb at least monthly - read and understand your bills.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0
