First time credit card

in Credit cards
So I need a credit card to pay my taxi car insurance in one payment of around £1600
I don’t need to use the card for anything else
I want to pay it back over 12 months
I have never had a credit card and am soo overwhelmed and confused by the whole process I really don’t want to shoot myself in the foot so any help would be hugely appreciated.
I’ve looked into this virgin card (can’t post link)
Which says 0% for 28 months (which I think means I get to pay back 0% interest for 28 months aslong as I continue with arranged monthly payments?) but then in the small print it says interest free for only 50 days!? This is where I get super confused,
Does this mean I only have 50 days to pay the £1600 interest free ?and if I don’t I will be charged?
Any clarification would be great or if your knowledgeable and you already know what card would be best for me I would appreciate your knowledge thanks so much

Josh I think the 0% for 28 months is probably on a balance transfer.
My mate just got a £17,000 loan at 2% from Tesco so that may be well worth having a look at.Always looking for a bargain and to help0 -

If you don't clear the balance in full each month, you always get charged interest.
For the first 28 months (assuming it's a 0% purchases card and not BT, and as long as you make at least minimum payments), you'll be charged interest at 0%.
After that, you'll be charged at your standard rate.
If this is your first card and you have a thin credit file, you probably won't get a 0% card. Try an eligibility checker first.0 -
