Contacting Freeholder Directly

Hi all!
FTB becoming frustrated with how long my house buying process is taking (after being told it would be quick as no chain, a couple keen to move asap and as a cash buyer). I know things will take as long as they take, but it appears that we are being held up by the freeholders supplying the leasehold pack. It has been months since it was requested and every week I am told it will be "in the next few days".
I have the e-mail address for the freehold company (actually a group of all the flat owners in the building) from the TA7 form. Is it overstepping to e-mail them directly to see what is holding this up?
Thanks!

There's nothing to stop you contacting the seller's freeholder.
But most freeholders won't discuss anything with prospective buyers.
And realistically, if the freeholder is failing to respond to their leaseholder and/or their leaseholder's solicitor - I suspect there's even less chance that they'll respond to you.
A better route would be to chase the seller (perhaps via the EA). They might then chase their freeholder a bit harder.
Don't rely on solicitors to chase anyone - it's not really what they do.0
