Letters... more letters... any more letters..?

Options
After following your newbie thread for PCN's and not responding to debt letters I feel I need to ask a question about my predicament.
I'll try and keep it quick...

PCN received late last year due to overstay at retail park. Minutes over. Nothing other than using their premises to shop.
Engaged in a conversation with one of the retail managers and he agreed to help sort it.
Continued to ignore the debt letters, various reduced fees, etc... whilst still in contact with retail manager who assured me this was being sorted.
Problems arose when PC claimed not to know about any cancellation of various PCN'c this manager had arranged. Manager furious, higher management got involved, problem sorted.
Retailer have their own system now to cancel any PCN's they deem unfair. Including mine.
After speaking to manager again, who said all of the recent PCN's HAVE now been cancelled, I'm STILL receiving the debt letters.

The debt company has changed name since the last letter I received (Same company, I know, same case number etc...) with another measly reduced offer.
Do I STILL keep ignoring these letters even after my PCN has been cancelled? Do these letters keep coming even after Notices have been cancelled? And if they do, any time frame on WHEN they stop?
I plan on visiting retailer again but I know I'll get the same response that they HAVE been cancelled.

Thanks for reading.

If it's a BPA member, email Steve Clark to complain that the AOS member firm is using a debt collector to chase for PCNs already cancelled:

    steve.c@britishparking.co.uk

And you should post a copy of those letters to the furious manager/retail park higher manager and suggest surely it's time they end the contract with this scammer.

Make the !!!!!! hit the fan!

As you know, and as post #4 of the NEWBIES thread tells you, you can safely ignore debt collectors letters.
  • It is. The worst one.

In the email is it wise to avoid mentioning if I was the driver and just stick to 'registered keeper'?
And do I need any evidence from the retailer before I email him?

    Thanks.

Yes show Steve the evidence that the PCNs were cancelled, and no saying who was driving, just 'we' got it cancelled and the Store Manager was furious that the parking firm carried on writing, so it was escalated and now look what the parking firm are getting sent to me, despite the cancellation.

    Which parking firm?

Are the debt collectors Debt Recovery Plus and Zenith?

DRP and Zenith are one and the same outfit (check the tiny print shown on the Zenith letter).

ECP are probably out of the picture now, they’ll leave it to their hapless (powerless) debt collecting henchmen - they can do you no harm.

ECP are BPA operators, so complain to Steve Clark as per CM’s advice.

    also complain to your MP.

On 18th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these private parking companies. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, and persistent offenders denied access. Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers.

Until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.
