Ball bearings in my washing

HI. The other day I found a 5mm ball bearing in my washing machine (Indesit) drum after taking out the washing. Today I found five more! Ive watched a few youtube vids and the drum doesnt feel loose and Ive not noticed it be noisy. Naturally, the guarantee ran out four days ago! I rang whirlpool and the lady asked her manager for a free repair but it was declined. Cost of repair not far off what I paid for machine, even though the parts are still covered by extended guaranteed. Any idea where they may have come from? Watching a video on replacing the drum bearing I can only think its from there but they would have to come through the seal. There is no leak but maybe water doesn't get that high. Any thoughts welcomed. Thanks

I'd have thought that if the bearing was broken up enough to shed it's balls, the machine would be making terminal noises.
Not sure how they'd get in the washing either.
    Anyone else's washing in there?
Any games or anything with ball bearings in them in the house?
Anyone work in engineering and put them in their pockets?

Try getting a quote from a local independent repairer. It's the labour costs that normally give the big bills if you go through the manufacturer.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

We are perplexed. No idea how they would be coming in with the washing. Theres nothing else with them, just perfectly clean little ball bearings.

I would have thought that there would have been more than 6 5 mm balls in a washing machine bearing.
Any more in the filter housing ???

If the ball bearings had come out of the drum bearings it wouldn't work any more. Also how have they got from outside the metal drum to inside it?

I suggest going through all the pockets before washing any more jeans!
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.
