What to do if employee is looking for new job during work

I would deal with it by asking the employee if they are happy working with the firm as has been said. I would then mention it to your manager. I would not ignore it as you are in a management role and are expected to behave as such. The management above you might ignore the problem or have a policy for such matters. Either way it is not up to you to either ignore it or to act without keeping your own boss informed of the situation.
