Thank you for the clarification calcotti and poppy - makes sense now. Does being there in person really count as evidence? If they can see that you are mentally unwell does that help your case?
Yes because they will be able to see for their self and also there will be questions to ask you.

It will depend how bad you mental health is. There's descriptors to meet for each of the groups. See links.

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of conditions would not require you to have a face to face assessment? I had one recently and I couldn't understand what the point was in dragging me all the way there for that. They basically just asked me the same questions as in the questionnaire and it was stressful enough having to go there at all.

Also, if anyone can answer - if I'm already in the support group, can I be moved to the WRAG after my assessment?

Its not about the condition its about whether the claimant has provided enough evidence to support their claim without them needing to be seen

It isn't always about evidence I got a paperbased without sending any evidence with my form maybe because my condition is straight forward lifelong and I meet a support group descriptor and my nephew was the same.

Paper based assessment are normally based primarily from evidence submitted by the medical professional(s) treating you.

If your GP/Consultant responds to a request for information with clear compelling evidence that you satisfy the ESA criteria then the HCP will normally give advice to the DWP on a paper basis.

It won't just stop unless you fail to attend. You can't be found fit for work without a face to face assessment.

Sometimes they do decide they have enough of information to do a paper based assessment, even after the appointment is sent. I'm not saying this will happen but it's certainly possible.
