Failed the Experian identification process

Posted on here a few times the last few days :o but after having a great credit score and never having any issues with getting a bank card/credit card, I'm suddenly struggling.

I'm in a better place financially than I have ever been but last week I applied for a joint account for me and my partner (to make bill paying easier) and yesterday we got an email saying it had been declined. Then today, Santander (who I already bank with) emailed me about a 0% transfer credit card. I filled out the online process with the aim of transferring the £2000ish that I currently have on another card over but I just got another declined email.

I went to check my credit score but when log in it says "Sorry, but you have failed the Experian identification process. This means that Experian was unable to verify your identity from the details you provided." It has always been fine previously.

Is this likely to be linked to me moving house this month and so the system still catching up with paperwork and my current address? If so, is this likely to be linked to my declined credit and joint account application or would that be unrelated? I don't want to keep applying for other accounts to use as our joint account because I know lots of rejected applications looks bad but it's making life a bit difficult right now and because I don't know what the problem is so I've got no idea how to fix it

    Raise a query with Experian.

In the meantime, check your files with Noddle and Clearscore. Ignore all of the scores, but check the data carefully to see what appears.

The change of address may be an issue. Stop applying until you've viewed at least a couple of your reports.

If you have only moved house THIS MONTH then your electoral roll information will not have updated and, assuming that you have actually notified all credit providers of the change of address, insufficient time has elapsed for everything to be updated with the CRA's.
Stop applying until everything is updated.
