Deceased parents mortgage endowment

Options
Hi, my parents took out an endowment when they took out a mortgage in the 1980’s. The endowment should have paid the mortgage off when my Dad retired but it was short & he had to continue to work to pay off the mortgage. I think it was miss sold but I don’t know the name of the endowment company. Can I make a claim & should I use one of those reclaim companies.
Thanks for any advice.
Di.

Most potential endowment complaints are already time-barred for the living, so I doubt you'll get far pursuing a complaint about a deceased person's three decades old finance especially as you have no details.

A claim company cannot assist you either.

Endowments didnt start running short until around 2000. Providers started issuing timebar warnings around 2003/4 and by 2007, over three quarters of endowments were barred from complaint.

You also needed to raise a complaint within 3 years of knowing there was an issue (so maturity would trigger that clock.

1 - you dont know the company that sold the product.
2 - it is almost certainly timebarred from complaint
    3 - it is possibly pre-regulation
4 - you wont know if its missold or not as you were not present and details are unlikely to exist after all this time.
