Nintendo Wii power pack

I've just taken delivery of a new Wii console courtesy of my brother who lives in France. It states that the power pack is for use in europe except UK & Ireland. Is this just cos I need an adapter for the French 2 pin plug or is there likely to be issue with the power supply? Not too sure whether to plug it in in case it goes pop!!

As long as it says 240 Volt on the power pack, then just get an adaptor. Shouldn't be any problems.0
