CASS and Benefits

Hey everyone.
I've used the CASS to switch my main account from Halifax to Monzo. I am currently in receipt of some benefits. I have tried calling the DWP to change my bank details with them but can never get through.
I know that payments made to an old account are automatically sent to the new account, but does anyone know how long this takes please? I.e. If I usually get paid on a Wednesday at 00:15am into my Halifax account, when should I receive it in my Monzo account?
I've never done this before, and obviously I am going to phone the DWP to let them know my new account details for peace of mind, but I don't want to be without money for food until I can get through to them.
I hope that made sense.
Thank you.

I would expect the money to be at Monzo on the same day as it is sent to Halifax, although there's no guarantee it'll be that quick. If certainty was a key requirement it might have been better to set up the Monzo account yourself, tell DWP the new account details (once you could get through), ensure that the money was arriving OK, and then do the CASS.0

Your money will probably arrive in the switched account on the same day it would have arrived in the old account.
Use a donor account for future switches, not your real one.0 -
Whenever Monzo update their accounts for that day - it'd be unusual for that to be after 6am.
For Bacs - which the DWP payments likely are - the switch takes place centrally - i.e. from DWP to Monzo; it will never actually touch Halifax.0 -
The CASS will advise the recipient of the new details and they will be usually update them automatically.
Did you retain a backup account with a traditional provider? I find Monzo flaky and definitely wouldn't use it as my sole banking provider. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
