The caravans would not be registered at the DVLA. They could only attempt to ticket the cars, vans and motorhomes. It's not the first incident recently. I think that they are stocking up before moving on.

I wonder what would happen if a case went to court for a caravan being over the white line?

You think a CCJ against them would impact their lives even one little bit?

A CCJ would not make one iota of difference to their lives but it would still be interesting to see how it would play out if a case ever got to court. Does it say in the PPC's terms and conditions that a caravan cannot be parked? The PPC's take the terms and conditions to the letter so it would be funny if the tables were turned.

Do you think a traveller would turn up in court?

Meaningless judgment in default in favour of the PPC, with absolutely no prospect of collecting.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Travelers in a lot of cases won't use sites provided because they don't want to pay. They set up camp anywhere and leave a terrible mess. Tesco customers won't want to shop there if they feel safety or security is compromised. Regardless of car park charges they are a menace to the law abiding taxpayers - the cost of cleanup alone is substantial. Like any other private business Tesco's costs are ultimately met by the customer.

When I worked at B&Q we had only 2 traveller camp problems over the years in stores I actually worked in. Theft is a big problem, and in 1 case overnight burglary from the garden centre. Police basically wouldn't even go and ask about it - they said you have no proof that the new garden furniture they are all sitting on that matches the stuff you had stolen last night is the stuff from your store.

The dodgy legals will have a go just to prove to their client how stupid they are

Anyone know where travellers register their cars ???
