Sorry to jump on this. If I had worked at school for 4 years and want to check if I had paid any contributions, how do I check who the pension provider was? Call the school? Or it linked to the trust in charge at the time? I worked in school 2009 - 2013 and may have contributed???
Do you have any P60s?
If not be aware that you are actually meant to keep these, so you ought to have the latter ones.
If you do then it might be easiest to ask the school who to contact.

What would you advise someone with no pension? 38 years young, have 100k equity in my property but have a mortgage for 22 years left on it! (House value around £275k)
Never felt Ive earnt enough from salaries and always "opted out" to give me the £40+ a month extra in my account - short sighted!
Just worried what the impact will be once I hit the retirement age of 70!! (haha! be more like 80, when im done!!)
Yep, probably you'd have had £80-£100 in your pension instead of £40 in your pocket.
Pensions are like planting trees, best time to plant one 20 years ago, second best time, today.0 -

I've currently got 5 pensions due to changing jobs, when I move I go online and update my address.
A few times a year I check to see what the current value is.
It's not loads, but if I never added to another pension again before retiring it would provide some pocket money.
I know you are not earning much but give it serious thought and see where you can pull back on spending to cover your opt in %Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -
Morata - if you were teaching, you could try registering for the online pension service, and see if they have a record of you.
