Just received an email from First Utility as I am in the misdt of changing to them.

First Utility is now rebranded to Shell Energy

Hello ##
We’re writing to you as you’re currently in the process of switching to First Utility.
Now we’re part of Shell, we’ve changed our name to Shell Energy.
For energy
Your current service, your tariff and the way you pay will remain the same.
Broadband
If we supply you with broadband, we are now Shell Energy Broadband. Your broadband package and service remain the same.
Other changes
Payment references on your bank statement will change to Shell Energy for energy and to Shell Energy Bband for broadband within the next few weeks - we’ll contact you before this happens. As we make these changes, you may still see references to First Utility in some places, like the app for example, so please bear with us.

We’ve also updated our Energy Terms and Conditions, Broadband Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy, which are available on our website.

From taking a quick look on their new website there will be a rewards programme for customers of Gas/Electric and/or broadband to save up to 3% off fuels at their Petrol stations.
My switch is due to complete in 4 days to fingers crossed that it all goes smoothly still!

I've just read my e mail tonight,I'm locked in now anyway until next Feb,I've been with them for a few years but this will prompt me to compare on a switching site next year0

Shell Shocked .... ? well, i WAS supposed to be
switching to them, but after trying endless times
to call, and never ever getting through to a human, I gave up, just kept on hold, with endless
recorded messages, very poor customer service indeed, are you listening, Mr. Crook ?????

Just out of interest (as I am in the middle of a contract at present and not looking to move) I did a search for the best current deals on the Citizens Advice comparison site yesterday and was surprised to see First Utility right at the top of the list. I cannot recall them being anywhere close to that position before.0

They were pretty cheap a few years ago but then got quite expensive. I was with them for nearly two years but then their prices jumped quite a bit so I left and went to GB.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0

In the process of switching (as First Utility were cheapest 'big' supplier and reviews ok). Just got email from Shell Energy with no mention of rebranding. I clicked the link, after a little research, and all became clear. Hopefully it will go smoothly.:)0

I cannot comment on First Utility as I was never a customer of them, but on Shell Energy, for the time I have been with them, nothing to complain about.
Hassle-free switch, good tariff and good customer service.
