If it can go through on a bank holiday, why can't it go through on a saturday or sunday?
It can: as stated earlier in the thread Tesco are known to be an exception and process SOs 7 days a week.0 -

True, Tesco sent the money on 5th, but the target bank (Santander) dated the transaction on the bank holiday monday.
The question is stilll valid for Santander - if it can go through on a Bank Holiday, why not a Saturday or Sunday?0 -

We have one SO with TSB, for the rent of our Sheltered Housing bungalow. That was originally setup to be paid on the 16th of each month and is automatically moved to the next working day, from Sat/Sundays or Bank holidays. If the 16th in any given month occurs on a weekday/non Bank Holiday, it reverts to that day.
I might add that my landlord continues to request that we pay by DD. Since, through bitter experience, we cannot trust the landlord as far as we can throw their Warden, we continue to refuse.
The Scheme Warden was supposed to visit once a week at first, then once a month. We have not seen her for more than 6 months. When last seen, she was a very large lady: I would struggle to pick her feet from the floor, never mind throw her!I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

Yes, I see your point. Those poor computers that work so hard for Santander all week need a break at the weekend. Pity they forgot to give them a break on the bank holiday too, along with the human staff who all had the day off.Question for you: if you are working on a Monday, why can't you work on a Saturday or Sunday (or whenever your days off are)?0
