Good afternoon,
I'm trying to rebuild my credit score and I've noticed that the monthly payments I make to a debt collector don't show on my report. My original creditor is still on there and it's showing as missed payments every month (I've been paying the debt collector a lower payment for 3 months). Is this because this is now classed as a different account? And should the original account now be marked as closed, with a new account showing for the debt collection company?
Thank you in advance.

Only if the account has been sold. More likely it remains with original creditor and will continue to show in default until settled.0

Also don’t focus on rebuilding your score.
It’s not a real number lenders use when making their decisions0
