Moving Sub Electric Meter
MOVING SUB ELECTRIC METER : I've business running downstairs with two sub meter for two flats upstairs, generating one invoice only. now tenants upstairs they want to keep their sub meter into the flat. They are refusing to pay me because they cant get invoice on their name. they are happy if i can move into the flats. my current supplier is British gas. I dont know how does it work, costing, etc.Only thing I know if i set up new individual meter it will cost me 4-5k which is significant amount.any solution please.

You can move the sub-meter into their flat, or install a second sub-meter in their flat. Any electrician can do that. If these are residential tenants you can only charge them for their electricity at the same rate you pay, and your sub-meter must be MID approved.
Your tenants might be more amenable if you arrange a smart meter they can top up direct, which can be done as a landlord's sub meter through eg

Get them out if I were you.

Even if you moved the sub-meters into their flat they would not get their own bill as it sounds like you only have a single Metering Point (MPAN).
For the flats to get their own bills and be able to switch supplier they need their own Metering Point and meter. A new metering point requires the Distribution company to connect them up and then a supply to fit meters. You would need to contact you local distributor to get a quote but don't expect it to be cheap.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.
