Has any One Claimed (Won) & back PPI from Car Finance

Hello All,

So my question is has any one claimed back their PPI from Car Finance ?

I tried for my PPI back in 2011 from Blue Motor Finance Limited:440553 based in Warrington, Cheshire.

They rejected my claim, also I wrote to The Financial Ombudsman in 2011, they agreed with Blue Motor Finance Limited.

The car dealership arranged the finance in 11/2017 with Blue Motor Finance Limited from British Credit Trust Limited.

I have read on this forum that some user have made similar post without any follow ups.

Do I try again, & Who too, could I try for Plevin claim.

(Update Feb 2019: Following an MSE campaign, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has said firms must write to up to 150,000 PPI claimants they'd previously rejected by the end of April)

No one company has wrote to me yet, (wishful thinking)

Is there anyone who could advise on my next move.

At this moment & time I'm not sure what to do ?

Thanks Rich

    Yes they have.

Are you sure about that date? PPI wasnt been sold in November 2017.

They wouldnt do as that has nothing to do with car loan PPI.

When did you buy the car loan?
When did you repay the car loan in full?

    Did I say 2017, I mean 11/2007, finished paying back in 12/2012.

Do you mean you tried to claim on the policy or complain about it?

If you complained, what were you're reasons, and their reasons for rejection?

Not possible to claim again, you only get one bite of the cherry I’m afraid.

With regards to Plevin, if applicable they should write to you... however nothing to stop you enquiring, but make sure they know that you query merely relates to Plevin/commission as any mention of mis-sale will simply result in a letter reminding you that your complaint was not upheld.
  • Do you mean you tried to claim on the policy or complain about it?

I tried to claim back the PPI because I'd been miss-sold, at that time I'd been self employed. I don't have any paper work now as I sold the car in 2015, just an old credit report I kept that states the dates.
  • Are you sure self employed were not covered by the policy?

Yes it did, that's what started me to reclaim.

You can ask about Plevin, just write to them

The fact the FOS agreed with the seller about the PPI policy indicates the policy did cover the self employed (assuming that was your only complain reason) - the FOS are an independent body and require many firms to payout on cases the firm has rejected, in your case you were not miss-sold.

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
