I access Facebook vua Chromebook, Samsung tab A6 and Samsung A5 mobile. Of these, which would be the one to use to change settings.

Untill a few weeks ago, when I scrolled to friends, on my phone it would state recent posts in blue and I would know who had posted. But no longer. Is this an option.

On my tablet, this would show recent posts, but not in blue, standard b&w. But no longer.

As for my Chromebook, no recent posts shown either.

Clearly I have changed a setting and may have caused a conflict. Any ideas please.

You could be clearer. However if you want to see recent posts on android version just click the three lines at the top and most recent will be selectable there. Also do you keep it upto date by checking if there are updates in the play store. Another thing i sometimes do is try clear the app cache and even clear the apps data.

Doesn't matter. The news feed top stories/most recent settings won't transfer between devices.

This is more likely down to Facebook. They hate you having control of how your news feed is displayed and only want everyone to see it in the order they decide on. However you have your news feed set you won't see every post you would think you would see.

Facebook changed the way the news feed works recently and now you're doing well if you see anywhere near half of what your friends have recently posted. In fact I looked at my news feed yesterday and according to that none of my friends wrote anything on Facebook for 15hrs straight, which I highly doubt somehow. So go into your friends list (on the website) and you'll see "x new posts" under your friends for the stuff you haven't seen.

I don't believe the device you use makes any real difference as the order of the posts is determined by the site and as documented you only see what they want you to see.

I have the FB app on my Android phone - if I select 'three lines' (top right) and then select 'most recent' it brings up what they think is most recent, but of course it isn't :( and if I scroll down, it will reach a point where it won't load any more posts.
If on my laptop using Firefox with the FB Purity addon, I go to http://www.facebook.com/?sk=h_chr (which is the equivalent of 'most recent') it will scroll down forever!

Firstly, my laptop is a Chromebook, so can't experiment there. On my tablet, installed Firefox then the purity addon, but that made no difference, still no blue text new posts.

In fact, when I am on my page and click on friends, the list displays,

ALL FRIENDS, CURRENT CITY, HOME TOWN, FOLLOWING.
after all friends, it should state NEW Posts but it hadn't for a week or so.

I don't recall ever seeing blue text new posts on Facebook. I just get presented with the most recent, or most important depending on settings, posts at the top.
