    Lie on an insurance proposal, and don't look surprised when your premium is increased.

    Just be thankful they didn't cancel your policy. And, next time, read the question you're actually answering, not what you think you should be answering. They've asked that kind of question, or very similar, for years.

    The answer is yes.


    I recommend reading up on defensive driving. It saved my life once, and has helped me avoid accidents several times.

    I don't think defensive driving can do a lot to prevent people driving into the back of you though like what happened to the OP

    This. A previous employer put me through a week long defensive driving course. Still didn't prevent me from being hit up the backside at a T junction and on Scarborough seafront where I'd been sat static behind an open top bus waiting for traffic lights.
