Shortening light pendants

Hi,
Sorry if this is a really dumb question! I want to buy these light fittings but they are too long, can an electrician shortened them so they don’t hang as low ?

It depends how they have been made. If the light connections are screw type connections, then the flex can be reduced. But some light fittings now are effectively 'sealed units' and aren't designed to be altered.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -

Looking at that, I'd be looking at the bulb end first rather than the ceiling end, which looks a bit complicated. It's certainly something I'd look at in the shop, by unscrewing one of the bulb holders!0
