Sky increase

Hello, could anyone please offer advice?
3 weeks ago, I renewed my sky package on a retention product as I was within a month of the expiry of my current deal.
Although the price was higher than I wanted, I agreed to it, as we are limited to tv options with not having an arial (we run one tv off a sky q box).we also upgraded to sky fibre.
When I renewed, I specifically said to the man on the phone that I was aware of upcoming price increases, and double checked if the prices would be after the increases, and he assured me they would be. He did say over the course of the contract, the prices would be reviewed, but the price we had agreed to was taking on the new increase. One of the prices he had made a mistake with, and didn't include the increase (sky cinema) so he credited my account with the 18 month cost of this.
Fast forward to today and I have received a letter saying that they are increasing my bill by £6 per month inline with price reviews.
I haven't even paid one bill at the my new contract price yet, never mind including an increase!
Can they do this?
I have put in an official complaint, and told them that I want to listen to the original phone call to prove that he said that to me. All they tried to do was put me through to retentions. When I persevered they have told me they would investigate and ring me back later.
Does anyone have any advice on how I can deal with this?
Thank you in advance.

Check your future bills on My Sky account and see if that's actually what is happening or not. Often the letter is generic and does not always apply.
