Can I try and get more?

Options
I received a payment back in 2016 from Lloyds for miss sold PPI on several loans (although not very much) - when they sent me the offer it was 'upheld in part' which I didn't really know what that meant. I have tried to seek further compensation as am sure that I was still owed more but they said because I claimed before and had 6 months to 'appeal' I couldn't seek further compensation. Is this correct? I have seen recently that some banks underpaid people and that I still may be owed more. I am not a financial expert and the conclusion letters were very complicated. Is it worth me still trying to proceed? A PPI claims company has said that I am still owed PPI so I went about seeking it myself (didn't want to pay the middle man). Any advice would be gratefully received.

  • PPI claims companies can be, erm, economical with the truth.

You can't just keep complaining over and over, they'll refer you back to their previous decision.
They're correct that you had 6 months to refer your complaint so unless you have compelling new proof, it's game over.

We have no idea what you complained about or your complint reasons. Upheld in part sounds like they gave you redress for the monthly difference you would have paid, not a straight up uphold and redress.
They are right in that you had six months to go to the FOS afterwards and that you cn't compain again about the same thing. Dig out your letter, read what it actually says. If it says you eould hve benefited from the PPI but it should have been sold on a monthly basis, that's your partial uphold reason.
You can ask them to reconsider this, if this is the case but you can't use the FOS.

And never believe claims companies, they'll tell you anything to get you to sign up with them, you are not owed anything, it is a complaints process not a reclaim process, and they have no idea what credit you had with anyone because that information is not in the public domain.
