PCN for parking in my parking spot...

Hi, I hope someone would be kind enough to help. I was given a ticket because my permit fell for where I live. I appealed saying I have a permit and sent a picture of it, but had a letter back saying I that my appeal was unsuccessful as I did not display my permit (typical from these private parking cowboys).
The letter says I can appeal to the IAS. Do they still need to serve a NTK? As the vehicle is a lease I know that private parking companies normally mess up on this part. I had to select on the appeal if I was the driver or registered keeper (no other option) so I selected driver, probably a mistake thinking of it now. But as I specifically didn't type that I was driving but clicked on a box can I be held liable? And what should my next steps be?
I have just moved in and this was the last thing I needed
They would have clearly seen the permit if they had looked it as it was in the middle console face up!

UKCPM are notorious around residential sites, and are currently the most litigious parking operator in the country.
No appeal to the IAS is likely to succeed, no matter how good your case is.
You now have to wait to see what UKCPM's next move is and respond to that. We can help then. Meanwhile, study the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #3 which explains how you deal with a court case against you, which I'm pretty sure will follow in the next few weeks.
You also need to get out your lease/tenancy agreement and study what that says about your rights to park. That is a crucial document to your defence. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I don't know of any PPC that insists on that 'keeper or driver' info, where you can't leave it blank. It's not allowed to be a condition of appealing.I have just moved in and this was the last thing I needed.

Do you OWN the flat or rent it, and what does your agreement say about parking rights?
Did you have a permit by then or had you applied?
Please don't ask for 'next steps' (a phrase I hate, sounds like teaching a child to walk). You are at IAS stage and the NEWBIES thread tells you to ignore that farce completely.

Have they got your correct address? They can only serve a NTK to the address the DVLA has for the date of the event...had you already updated your V5C address (NOT your driving licence)?

THANK YOU for your quick reply.
Yea I found it weird that I had to select one to proceed. But as its ratio box I wondered if that would stand in court, I soon regretting selecting driver as I'm not the keeper so I had no other choice really.
Yes I have updated all of my details, address with lease company and DVLA.
I did have a permit by then, it fell from my dashboard to the middle console (and was visible on the middle console)
Now...I own the flat, however, I rent the parking spot from another resident as I let my gf use mine.0 -

The other person mentioned the options available, what option would you of chosen instead?Trinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0 -
Identifying yourself in an "own space" scam is no problem, it is your space and you parked there. But why do you show an permit? What does your lease/AST say about the need for one?
Have you read these?

In most cases, the lease/AST takes primacy over a third party scammers made up T&C., get your MP on board.
On 18th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these private parking companies. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, and persistent offenders denied access. Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers.
Until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

Registered keeper. There's no requirement to tell these people anything. Their drop down box is designed to entrap, and this poster has fallen in to it by erroneously identifying himself as the driver. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. If the other person was unable to leave it blank, what option do u think the other person should of chosen instead?
But I don't believe any PPC makes this mandatory. I think it was avoidable.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
