Parking Eye CCJ from 2015

Hi All - new to this and I've searched the threads but I think this one is a little different...
Back in 2014 my then wife "borrowed" my car to do an event in Southport.
She believed she had free parking as the carpark was attached tot a hotel group where the event was taking place - however, my car was no the registered vehicle she'd applied to do the event in - she'd borrowed it as hers had broken down...
To cut to the chase she didn't pay any parking fee and subsequently received a PE PCN which she ignored and did not inform me of...
The PCN eventually went to court in Northamptonshire and I was issued with a CCJ - I had no knowledge of this as my Ex kept all the letters from me and we'd moved from the old address and sold the car during this period.
Now separated I'm trying to sort out a new life which includes new bank accounts and potentially a mortgage - to my horror I've discovered my credit rating is poor - investigating this further via Experian I have discovered the CCJ...
My question is at this late date is there anything I can do - it expires in 2021 but I want to get my finances in order now - I'm 50 so dont want to leave it another 2 years until I'm "clean" to get a mortgage etc.
I'd spoken to the Court and they said I could apply to have it set aside but my chances were low....
I'd love to hear feedback on a potential solution if there is one!
Thanks in advance

Did they say why? Usually these are nodded through in such circumstances.
Complain to your MP. On 18th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these private parking companies. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, and persistent offenders denied access. Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers.
Until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Look at NEWBIE thread post # 2 relating to set-asides. You MIGHT have a chance if you can prove that you did change your address on your V5C when you moved but that someone maliciously kept your post from you. Now you have discovered the CCJ, you need to apply quickly. It will cost you a £255 fee.0

The NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #2 gives you advice on how to apply for a set aside.
I agree with DPD (above) that CCJs, where the individual is blissfully unaware of the prior PCN and court proceedings that resulted in the issue, are virtually guaranteed a set aside.
But - if it was your car, how come your ex-wife received the PCN from PE, any communication would have initially been in your name? Something doesn't compute. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Parking Eye CCJ
Hi All - Newbie alert - this question has probably been asked many times...
I've joined Experian for my credit report only to discover I have a CCJ - dates back to Jan 2015 and it appears my Ex wife borrowed my car and parked without paying giving me a ticket - the details of which went to an old address etc etc.
almost 4 years on I wondered if there is any chance or process to settle / delete / set aside the CCJ or do I just have to role with it for another 2 years ???
Cheers

Is this another issue or the same as this thread?
If it's the same well you have known about it since Nov 2018“You’re only here for a short visit.

Whoaaa. That thread was from Nov 2018. I don't think any Judge will be too sympathetic to a set aside if it's been left for ~ 4 months since the OP became aware of it. Normally they expect an application to be made within a couple of weeks of discovery.
@OP - you're in danger of shooting £255 into a black hole! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
