Hi,
I always measure the rail/pole and then gather them up and put hooks on before I hang them, this way you can evenly space the gathers and hooks. You need curtains approx double the window width to get nice gathers, you can get away with less on thicker fabrics.
I aways tie the threads of one end of the tape so they don't pull straight through too.
Hope this makes sense?0 -
i do the same...measure the pole first, tie BOTH ends of the (3)strings in knots so they don't pull through (disaster if they do), spread out the folds and put in your hooks (according to how many rings are on each side) evenly spaced.
i always have to swallow hard too before i pull that thread cause then i can't return them anymore...(it's neurotic, i know)0
