Morning everyone. Lots of good news in the thread today, fatter babies, 'weller' OHs and peaceful Fridays.
Grey and damp here with the promise of rain later. Again.
DM is having two visitors in the early afternoon so I'll go in nearer teatime if she's up for it. For now I'm going to take a short walk in the park to take photos of the tree felling for DM.
There's soup for later. I have to call a halt to the recent binge / comfort eating fest of the last two weeks.
Happy Friday to all.0 -
Good news today - Laura had her third scan and everything is ok. This was the stage last time that they lost the heartbeat so we were all on tenterhooks. Apparently the successful outcome rate is now between 97 and 98% so we are breathing a little bit more easily. Normally she would now be discharged to the local ante-natal care but the consultant said that she would scan her one more time in two weeks "just for fun".0

Great news Snoozer.
OL tgat outfit sounds right to me.
My black eye is still there, waiting for it to fade.
Am tidying like anything as have the place to myself.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning!! Friend came round and woke me up, so she had the full force of the morning dodder...Cat is in asleep upstairs, second cup of tea for me, am thinking about breakfast, will probably think about it till tea time. Got a double whammy of eating out tomorrow, one birthday and one celebration, and while I don't doubt my stomach is up to the challenge, the rest of me could do with a single forlorn lettuce leaf waving goodbye to the salad dressing. Next week!
Visit to sewing shop for various bits and pieces, fancies or somesuch, and the purchase of a birthday gift for tomorrow, nothing like leaving ti to the last minute, but they already had a concert ticket as a gift and been and gone, so now it's something small. WIll then go for a cuppa wth said friend before coming home to maybe spot tidy a little bit...
Sewed a hole up in my sock last night, needed to wear glasses sew close up now, better get some stronger ones too I think...
Nelski, yes, take care of yourself. How's it going trying to get her to the docs? OL, sounds fine, anything smart and dark will do usually. And if someone asks you that this afternoon, would you be offended?SR, do you know sign language? Holly, enjoy your day, I may do the same if it doesn't rain. Good news abounding today and yesterday for everyone!
Wotcha absentees...

Afternoon all,
Seem to be having so many cba days at present that I am wondering if the dementia. that I joke about may be actually happening. I darent mention it to any of the clan as the reaction would be too much to cope with.
It's a dull day here today, meant to go shopping but didn't get round to it, early tomorrow morning as don't think that there is enough to feed a mouse to dinner.
Hope that the funeral goes all right OL.
Snoozer, glad to hear that things are going well for Laura, difficult not to worry.
Gers.....good to hear that DM is doing so well......she is some tough cookie, you should be very proud of her.
Gintomelinda......glad to hear that John is recovering well.
dP1.......well done that baby!
Nelski.....you are doing very well by your mum.....not easy to deal with such repitition..
Enjoy the rest of your day everybody.

Late to the party today and MIA yesterday. Overcast here and a bit parky.... dark clouds gathering. Time for the thick socks to go on. I have pernicious anaemia finally diagnosed last year (although likely had it for years). Yesterday was a day of exhaustion - I've upped my typing a bit and it may have been a mistake but needs must financially. Got my next B12 injection (every 3 months for the rest of the natural) in April. Booked it yesterday as you can never get in. Asked for a GP apt as well - first available with my GP? 16 April and no walk in surgery anymore....you have to attempt to get through on the day between 8.30 and 9 to book an urgent on the day. I will swear they've gone back to the 70s on access..... Anyway on Wednesday I made a new banana recipe which as worked well and OH actually likes (my last one was too banana-ry apparently...). As a result of my saying this re the baking a friend has left a bag of bananas on the doorstep today as they are off to Rome this weekend. So I may have a go at banana jam. Got to do a solar system piece for a 10 year old who is the grandchild of a friend..... why me? Ah well.... shouldn't take too long. Going to have a go at an Indian Spiced potato pie this weekend. I promised myself this year I was going to try something new once a week - either make it or listen to it etc. So far I've not managed so well..... Dinner is cod in florentine sauce from the freezer with a jacket pot and maybe some asparagus from the freezer. Trying to run everything down but keep stocking up ....
OL - I hope the funeral went as well as these things can and your outfit sounds ideal. I'm a big believer in black/dark colours for a funeral.... bit of a boring traditionalist me. No wonder my friends call me Planet 1950s..... and nothing I hear about people's behaviour after a death surprises me anymore after the stunts my sisters pulled on me when Mum went..... we hadn't even buried her and the eldest was taking stuff to the tip and looking at items to see if they were valuable. Even taking books off the shelf. When I caught her she soon knew what I thought......
Anyway, that is my ramblings for today. Hugs to all.The game's afoot....0 -
SNOOZER that's really good news about Laura and the baby. Such a relief for you all. x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

Oh, I also forgot to say that Steve's blood tests this week were about as good as they could be with everything in normal ranges so this week has gone about as well as it could.
I hope everyone else has the same.0 -
Gers I'm with you 'fatter babies' and 'weller' people History today which was interesting all about Wapping and Limehouse areas of which I am familiar with,
Nels, Mums can be hard going I know I am onebut You are so patient ,(even though you are probably gritting your teeth honey )
Tomorrow morning I am trundling up the motorway to pick our Jack up from Hertfordshire as he is coming home for the weekend from Uni, avec a big bag of grubby clothes as well I expectOn Sunday my DGD Katie is having a tea party for DGGD Erin as its her 1st birthday next Tuesday so all the family are going and Jack didn't want to miss out The boys ,big as they are ,dote on the little one and she grins gummily at them all They are so gentle with her bless them And Katie has been trying to teach her to say jacks name and she manages a Jack-jack then a huge giggle. He face times her and she loves it as she can see and hear him and he is always pulling funny faces on his lap-top at her. She is adored by these four young men and is spoilt rotten
.
I shall have to take him back again on Sunday night but I don't mind as he is a lovely lad and we will have a good natter about how he is getting on.
i managed to get all of my washing and ironing done and even put away so it will leave the weekend free.I am making a few dozen sausage rolls for the tea party, plus some for Jack to take back with him on Sunday.
No shopping to buy this week as I have enough to last over the weekend, but will need to food shop on Monday probably. My spicy celery soup was delicious and there is enough left for tomorrows lunch when I get back home
Hope everyone is enjoying the milder weather, this time last year we were up to our knees in snow Its lovely to see all the trees in blossom, especially the magnolia's
Hope you all have a good weekend
Cheers chums JackieO xx0
